What if the presence of God was closer than your next breath?

Lent invites us to slow down long enough to ask questions like that.

It is a season where the Church steps back from noise, excess, and distraction. A season of fasting, reflection, and return. We give things up not because they are bad, but because they are loud and in the quiet that follows, we begin to notice what was there all along.

One of the first things we notice… is our breathing.

You don’t have to be a priest or a prophet to experience God’s Spirit.

You don’t need to go to church or even have your life together. The breath of God has never been reserved for the few; it has been flowing through the whole of creation from the very beginning.

Yet most of us miss it.

We rush through our days distracted by headlines, appointments, and notifications. We inhale coffee and exhale stress. Meanwhile, the same divine breath that once hovered over the waters of creation quietly fills our lungs, and we barely acknowledge it.

Lent is an invitation to notice.
