Recently I checked in with my oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. Like Naaman, my narrative was full of my own expectations, as in, I have come to this high temple of cancer cures, now work your magic. While impractical, I only wish my doctor had told me to wash it off in the Hudson River. Instead, she said, "Just go home and live your life, grateful for each day." That's it? Yes, I guess that's it.

Thank you for sharing that, Sharon. What a profound conversation to have after arriving with so many hopes and expectations. It reminds me that sometimes the greatest gift isn’t always the answer we were praying for, but the invitation to see the days we have with fresh eyes.

“Just go home and live your life, grateful for each day” sounds almost too simple, yet perhaps that’s why it’s so hard, and so transformative. Thank you for connecting it with Naaman. I’ll be praying that gratitude and hope continue to walk alongside you.

But maybe it's not all. God might be able to move on your behalf through some other means. Rennie, who writes on Medium, had an article recently on solutions too simple for medicine or pharmacology to want to investigate them. One, was aspirin for breast cancer, I think. I am not recommending anything, but my discovery that all mental illnesses and many other conditions are caused by sound-deprivation to the brain and nervous systems makes me feel that other thorny problems also may have simple solutions that ordinary citizens might discover. Normally, high-frequency sound regulates the timing of entire body systems. Anything that interferes with "normal" interrupts that regulation, such as not enough sound in the environment, a right-ear muscle (stapedius) that is too weak to allow the transmission of sound through the ear, or a blockage in the brain like a tumor or stroke. Listening to violin music for 1-2 hours per day (not longer, or you will tire the ear muscle) only with the right ear can help to remove mental illnesses. It seems also to gradually remove inflammation in the brain. It could help you with your energy level while you are looking for something more specific to cancer.

I have told myself this very thing, "I hate to write", thus every prompting, journaling, taking notes, my penmanship, etc.. My ego rationalized them away. It all began in high school and now 40 years later, He wouldn't let it go. It begins now!!! Thanks for you timely, He always is. Post.

Be Blessed Brother

Thank you Jeffrey. I love that phrase: “He wouldn’t let it go.” Sometimes God has a wonderfully patient way of calling us back to the things we thought we’d left behind. I’ll be praying that this new beginning is full of joy and unexpected surprises.
