Some truths do not arrive loudly, but they stay longer than we expect. Image generated using Canva Pro Elements.

There are moments when something is said, and you know immediately it will not land easily.

Not because it is unclear or poorly expressed.

But because, somewhere underneath it, you recognise it as true, and that is what makes it difficult.

This week, as we move through Holy Week, we follow Jesus step by step towards the cross.

It is a week filled with familiar moments. The crowds. The table. The betrayal. The silence. The crucifixion.

We know how the story unfolds.

And yet, when you slow down and sit with it, something else begins to surface. Not just what happens, but how it feels. The tension. The discomfort. The sense that things are not being smoothed out, but sharpened.

Jesus does not spend this week making things easier.

If anything, he does the opposite.
