Welcome to today’s reflection.

In a culture of quick connections and easy exits, the Bible offers a quieter, more demanding vision of love. One rooted not in words, but in staying. This reflection explores the sacred power of loyalty, presence, and the courage to walk alongside someone when it would be easier to walk away.

We live in a world where connection is easy, but commitment is rare. We can “check in” with a swipe, send emojis instead of emotions, and convince ourselves we’re present without actually showing up or making much of an effort. But love … real, gritty, faithful love, asks much more of us. It’s never just about words. It’s about presence.

One of the most beautiful examples of this kind of love in the Bible is found in the story of a young widow named Ruth.
